Q. How disk space limitations affect my site?

If you have your disk filled with unnecessary data or your disk space is full, then it will reduce your server response time, hence your website speed will be reduced. In some cases, it may cause your website to crash.

Q. How much disk space do professional sites have?

Generally, professional websites have 2 GB to 5 GB disk space minimum. That is enough to host almost 300 web pages/blog posts. The requirement of disk space increases as the number of pages and media increases in your website.

Q. Do unlimited disk space in various hosting plans are really unlimited?

There are many hosting plans which offer “Unlimited disk space”. They are not truly unlimited disk space, but their limit of disk space is enough that there is a very low chance that you reach that limit.

Bandwidth in web hosting is the amount of data (like web pages, media, downloads, etc.) that your hosting company can transfer from your website to your users. You may understand it as a monthly allowance of data transfer from your website.

Q. How bandwidth measured?

It is measured by the amount of data that is transferred from your website whenever someone loads your website.

eg. if you have a page on your website of 10 KB in size. Then every time a user visit that page, 10 KB will be consumed from your bandwidth limit.

Q. How much bandwidth do I need?

It totally depends on the content on your website and no. of visits you get on your website monthly. However, if your website is new, and you don’t have a lot of visitors, then a simple unlimited bandwidth in various hosting plans is good for you.

Q. What happens when I exceed my bandwidth limit?

When you exceed your bandwidth limit, then either your hosting company may suspend your website, or they can charge you for the overuse of bandwidth.

Q. Do unlimited bandwidth in various hosting plans are really unlimited?

These unlimited bandwidths are never unlimited. But they are enough for a new website or blog which do not get a lot of visitors in a month.

Most of the hosting companies only offer one control panel with their plans, so you don’t get an option to choose yours. However, if you have the option to choose, then select a control panel based on your requirement.
